Project News for the Week of September 28
The northbound Sheridan Boulevard traffic will be realigned across the new bridge on Friday, Sept. 26, 11 p.m.-8 a.m. This realignment will require multiple closures of all of the Sheridan on- and off-ramps throughout the night. Flaggers will be on-site to guide motorists.
Construction crews will be setting the girders on the US 36 bridge over Promenade Drive on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m.-6 a.m. For the safety of the traveling public, the underpass will be closed. See below for more details.
Pecos Street to Federal Boulevard
Federal Boulevard On-Ramp to Eastbound US 36 Lane Restrictions
The Federal Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound US 36 will have a daytime single lane restriction, Sept. 29-Oct. 3, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., for ramp meter installation. One lane will remain open at all times.
Federal to Church Ranch Boulevard
Westbound US 36 Single Lane Restrictions
Westbound US 36 will have single lane restrictions from Federal to Sheridan Boulevard, Sept. 28-Oct. 4, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m. for noisewall installation work. One lane will remain open at all times.
Sheridan Boulevard Ramp Restrictions
There will be single lane restrictions, Sept. 29-Oct. 3, 7 a.m.-5 p.m., on all of the Sheridan Boulevard on- and off-ramps as ramp tie-ins are completed at the Sheridan Boulevard bridge.
Church Ranch Boulevard On- and Off-Ramp Lane Restrictions
The Church Ranch Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound US 36 and the eastbound US 36 off-ramp to Church Ranch Boulevard will have a single daytime lane restriction, Sept. 29-Oct. 3, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., to complete the curb and gutter and sign installation.
Wadsworth Parkway to 88th Street
US 36 Single Lane Restrictions
Eastbound and westbound US 36 will have nightly single lane restrictions, Sept. 28-Oct. 4, 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m., from 88th Street to Church Ranch Boulevard. These lane restrictions are necessary for dirt and concrete hauling, paving, and barrier removal and placement.
88th Street to Foothills Parkway
US 36 Single Lane Restrictions
Eastbound and westbound US 36 will have nightly single lane restrictions from the 88th Street bridge to Foothills Parkway, Sept. 28-Oct. 4 , 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m., for barrier removal and installation.
McCaslin Boulevard and Ramp Restrictions
The McCaslin interchange, including the on- and off-ramps and McCaslin Boulevard between Dillon and Marshall Road, will have lane restrictions, Sept. 28-Oct. 4, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times. RTD operations will not be impacted.
Foothills Parkway Ramp Restrictions
The Foothills Parkway on-ramp to eastbound US 36, and the westbound US 36 off-ramp to Foothills Parkway, will have daytime and nighttime single lane restrictions, Sept. 28-Oct. 4, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and 7 p.m.-7 a.m., for restriping. . One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.
Eastbound US 36 traffic from Sheridan to Federal Boulevard will be realigned onto the final section of concrete pavement on Sunday, Oct. 5, 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m. During the realignment, the eastbound US 36 ramps at Sheridan and Federal Boulevard will be intermittently closured. Expect various single lane restrictions during this activity. RTD bus operations will not be impacted.
Eastbound and Westbound US 36 Closures at Sheridan Boulevard
Eastbound and westbound US 36 will be closed for a quarter of mile on each side of the Sheridan Boulevard bridge, Oct. 6-10, 10 p.m.-5:30 a.m., for the removal of the temporary bridge support materials. Traffic will be detoured to the off-ramps and immediately back onto US 36 via the on-ramps. RTD bus routes will not be impacted.
Westbound US 36 Off-Ramp to McCaslin Closure
The westbound US 36 off-ramp to McCaslin Boulevard will be closed from 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, through 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 20. The closure is necessary to realign traffic onto the new off-ramp and for paving. Signs will be in the area to guide the traveling public. RTD bus operations will follow the detour.
Local Street Restrictions and Ongoing Closures
Promenade Drive Underpass Closure — Crews will be setting the girders on the US 36 bridge over Promenade Drive. For the safety of the traveling public, the underpass will be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m.-6 a.m. All parking lots surrounding the Westminster Promenade and the Shops at Walnut Creek will remain open. RTD bus routes will not be impacted but riders will want to take note of the pedestrian detour when parking.
Sheridan Boulevard Single Lane Restrictions – Northbound and southbound Sheridan Boulevard will have single lane restrictions from 92nd to 88th Street, Sept. 28-Oct. 4, 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
East Turnpike Drive Closure — For the safety of the traveling public, Turnpike Drive to the east and west of Lowell Boulevard is closed to all through traffic. This closure is necessary to construct the noise walls and relocate utilities on eastbound US 36. Flaggers will be on site and local traffic will be allowed through the work zone.
