Project News for the Week of Oct. 19
Westbound US 36 will be closed at Sheridan on Monday, Oct. 20, 10 p.m.-5:30 a.m., for bridge painting.Traffic will be detoured at the off-ramp and be routed immediately back onto US 36 via the on-ramp. RTD service will not be impacted and will follow the detour.
Single lane restrictions on eastbound and westbound US 36 will continue nightly, 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m., from Federal Boulevard to Foothills Parkway. Increased travel times should be expected. One lane will remain open at all times.
Pecos Street to Federal Boulevard
The Federal Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound US 36 will have a daytime single lane restriction, Oct. 20-24, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., for ramp meter installation. One lane will remain open at all times.
Federal to Church Ranch Boulevard
Westbound US 36 Closure at Sheridan Boulevard
Westbound US 36 will be closed at Sheridan Boulevard on Monday, Oct. 20, 10 p.m.-5:30 a.m. to all through traffic. Motorists will exit at the off-ramp and be routed immediately back onto US 36 via the on-ramp. RTD bus routes will not be impacted but will follow the detour.
Sheridan Boulevard Ramp Lane Restrictions
There will be daytime and nighttime lane restrictions on all of the Sheridan Boulevard on- and off-ramps as ramp tie-ins are completed. RTD bus routes will be flagged through the work area. Ramps will be closed intermittently as paving crews move from ramp to ramp. Restrictions will be in place at the following times:
- 19-25, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. – daytime single lane restrictions
- Sunday, Oct. 19, and Oct. 21-23, 10 p.m.-5:30 a.m. – full ramp closures
- Friday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 25, 11 p.m.-8 a.m. – full ramp closures
Westbound US 36 Single Lane Restrictions
Westbound US 36 will have single lane restrictions from Federal to Sheridan Boulevard, Oct. 20-25, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m., for noise wall installation. One lane will remain open at all times.
Church Ranch Boulevard On- and Off-Ramp Lane Restrictions
The Church Ranch Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound US 36 and the eastbound US 36 off-ramp to Church Ranch Boulevard will have a single daytime lane restrictions, Oct. 20-25, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., to complete curb and gutter, and sign installation.
Wadsworth Parkway to 88th Street
Eastbound US 36 Off-Ramp to Wadsworth Boulevard
The eastbound US 36 off-ramp to Wadsworth Parkway will be closed on Oct. 20 and 21, 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m. for concrete staining. Traffic will follow the detour to Church Ranch Parkway, or are advised to use an alternate route. Detour will be clearly marked.
Eastbound and Westbound US 36 (Wadsworth Parkway to McCaslin Boulevard) Delays
Expect up to 15-minute closures and delays on eastbound and westbound US 36, between Wadsworth Parkway and McCaslin Boulevard, Oct. 19-24, midnight-4 a.m., for overhead sign structure installation. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes.
US 36 Single Lane Restrictions
Eastbound and westbound US 36 will have nightly single lane restrictions, Oct. 19-25, 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m., from 88th Street to Church Ranch Boulevard. These lane restrictions are necessary for dirt and concrete hauling, paving, and barrier removal and placement.
88th Street to Foothills Parkway
US 36 Single Lane Restrictions
Eastbound and westbound US 36 will have nightly single lane restrictions from the 88th Street bridge to Foothills Parkway, Oct. 19-25, 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m., for barrier removal and installation, and roadway excavation.
McCaslin Boulevard and Ramp Restrictions
The McCaslin interchange, including the on- and off-ramps, and McCaslin Boulevard between Dillon and Marshall Road, will have lane restrictions, Oct. 19-25, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times. RTD operations will not be impacted.
Foothills Parkway Ramp Restrictions
The Foothills Parkway on-ramp to eastbound US 36 and the westbound US 36 off-ramp to Foothills Parkway, will have daytime and nighttime single lane restrictions, Oct. 20-24, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and 7 p.m.-7 a.m., for restriping. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.
Local Street Restrictions and Ongoing Closures
Turnpike Drive to the east of Lowell Boulevard Closure
Turnpike Drive to the east of Lowell Boulevard, from Hooker Street to 76th Avenue, will be closed to all through traffic starting on Monday, Oct. 20 at 7 a.m., for man-hole installation in the roadway. This section will remain closed 24 hours a day until the operation is complete. The detour will be clearly marked.
Sheridan Boulevard Single Lane Restrictions – Northbound and southbound Sheridan Boulevard will have single lane restrictions from 92nd to 88th Street, Oct. 20-25, 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
East Turnpike Drive Closure — For the safety of the traveling public, Turnpike Drive to the east and west of Lowell Boulevard is closed to all through traffic. This closure is necessary to construct the noise walls and relocate utilities on eastbound US 36. Flaggers will be on-site and local traffic will be allowed through the work zone.
