Project News for the Week of Jan. 25
Westbound US 36 traffic, between Federal and Sheridan Boulevard, will be realigned onto new concrete pavement on Sunday, Jan. 25. Signage will be in place to guide the traveling public.
The existing loop ramp (shown in red below) from southbound McCaslin Boulevard to eastbound US 36 will close permanently on Wednesday, Jan. 28. This closure is necessary to construct the new eastbound US 36 RTD bus ramp. During this phase of construction, traffic will yield at a temporary light to make a left turn onto the existing eastbound ramp with northbound traffic (shown in green below). Once the bridge is complete, traffic will have free left and right turns onto US 36 with the implementation of the Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). Click here for a video about the DDI.
Following the ramp closure, weather permitting, westbound US 36 traffic from McCaslin Boulevard to Cherryvale Road will be realigned onto new concrete pavement on Friday, Jan. 30, 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m. This realignment will allow construction crews to build the new permanent eastbound lanes.
